sehen!wutscher is four times faster than before with NIMMSTA and LNConsult
NIMMSTA is at the center of an impressive transformation in the logistics sector that has led the traditional Austrian optician sehen!wutscher to new standards of efficiency. In collaboration with the specialist consultant LNConsult for logistics, IT and digitalization, sehen!wutscher was able to significantly improve its logistics processes.
Our Industrial Smart Watch plays a central role in this transformation and impressively demonstrates how modern picking technologies can revolutionize everyday work in logistics. The Austrian family business sehen!wutscher used to work with traditional delivery and picking slips - a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. The previous system reached its limits, particularly with orders that often consisted of numerous individual products. The large number of different eyewear models that had to be sent to over 110 stores across Austria made efficient order picking difficult.
Thanks to the expertise of LNConsult and the introduction of our Industrial Smart Watch, sehen!wutscher was able to take the next step towards digitalization. Our smart watch, which is worn on the back of the hand, has a built-in barcode scanner and an e-ink touchscreen that displays the item name as well as the item quantity to be picked.
In the first step of picking, the order to be picked is selected on a tablet and sent to our NIMMSTA Smart Watch. This synchronizes the order and enables employees to scan the barcode on the digital label of the item to be picked. Once the picking quantity has been confirmed, the LED goes out and the next item, which is again identified by a flashing LED, can be scanned and picked. Special cases such as "shortage" or the need to "remarry a label" are also mapped via the Smart Watch.
Our Smart Watch is controlled by customizable software developed by LNConsult, which takes over the control of the components and the business logic. The software controls the sequence of processes and provides the interface to the customer system for order data and reporting.
The results speak for themselves: "We are even four times as fast as before!", says Lukas Kleemair, Head of Logistics at sehen!wutscher. It is remarkable that our smart picking solution has reduced the error rate to almost zero, which has further increased customer satisfaction. The close cooperation with LNConsult and the use of our modern technologies proved to be the key to success. The implementation of the project took only two months and was characterized by continuous learning and ongoing optimizations.
The introduction of the new system was very well received by the employees. An additional benefit became apparent from the start of winter: as employees no longer have to use delivery and picking slips all the time, their hands stay warm and work is easier. Following the successful completion of this project, sehen!wutscher is already planning further steps - keyword "lens subscription".Our collaboration with sehen!wutscher and LNConsult impressively demonstrates how logistics processes can be optimized through targeted digitalization. NIMMSTA stands for innovation and will continue to make a significant contribution to improving working conditions and efficiency in the logistics industry. Together, we are shaping the future of intralogistics.
